CLUB HISTORY (1994-2002)

Knox Lions were originally Wantirna South Warriors before coming Knox Warriors.  For a while, the home ground was at Schultz Reserve in Kinglock Pde, Wantirna. Apart from the change in club names, we also started off in the Eastern Districts Veterans Football League before moving to the Victorian Metropolitan Superules Football League in the 2000 season.

1994 - Our first season as the Wantirna South Warriors Veterans Football Club.

1995 - Known as the Wantirna South Warriors Veterans Football Club. Guernsey was black with yellow rims on collar and arm openings. Mascot was a Viking.

1996 - Wantirna South Warriors had a name change this season to become known as the Knox Warriors. The Guernsey did not change.

1997 - Knox  Warriors changed its Guernsey to Footscray Colours.

1998 - Knox Warriors Veterans Football Club was in the Eastern Districts Veterans Football League.

1999 - Knox Warriors Veterans Football Club was in the Eastern Districts Veterans Football League.

2000 - Knox Warriors joined the Victorian Metropolitan Superules Football League.

We came third for the season in Division 3. John Scicluna won the League's Division 3 Best and Fairest Award as well as being the League's equal Lead Goal Kicker with 22 for the season.

2001 - Knox Warriors came fourth for the season in Division 3

Pat Lester came Runner Up in the League Best and Fairest.

2002 - Knox Warriors home ground was at Fairpark Reserve in Ferntree Gully

Knox Warriors Ron Hummel, Mark Allan and Peter Jordan represented Tasmania at the XXth Masters Australian Football National Carnival held in Melbourne during October 2002. Peter Jordan was selected in the "All Australian" Team.
